Wellness and Masculinity

What to eat when you’re wellness focused.

The documentary on Netflix, Game Changers was true to its word. After launching on the subscription giant, men all over the world started to consider changing the way they consumed food.

They questioned the WHO pyramid of nutrition, they questioned why they felt bloated after drinking full cream milk and they queried why they were at the gym 5 days a week, and not seeing any changes in their physique.

Health and wellness Expert, Andi Lew, de-mystifies some key questionable marketing tactics from retailers in the FMCG industry (fast moving consumer goods) and let’s you know what to choose when shopping for your nutrition.

So what are our key take-aways? (ahem, excuse the pun)

  1. Always check the label and if you see anything as a number in brackets, gent-ly place it back down on the shelf.

  2. Looking for Gluten free? It won’t necessarily be in the health section.

  3. Make your own breadcrumbs. from good bread.

  4. Pink salt is awesome for you and won’t remove any of your masculinity.

  5. Don’t eat tuna from a can. It’s old. Eat fresh, alive foods.

  6. Peanut butter is excellent if you’re considering going Vegan – but choose the natural one that’s expensive.

  7. Move towards Oat milk, Coconut milk, Soy milk and Almond Milk.

  8. Do NOT drink sugary bubbly soft drinks. They are full of neuro-toxins.

  9. Plant fats are excellent, avocado oil, olive oil and coconut oil.

  10. Eggs, go for organic and grain fed. Happy animals, happy cells in your foods.

  11. Meats – no hormones, less fats and look for organic.

  12. Andi Lew is funny, aware, lives a life of wellness and health and is ahem, quite sexy. Agree?!!
