The Raffles International Showcase will return to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) with seven of Asia-Pacific’s emerging fashion design stars hitting The Runway, Carriageworks.
The runway show will celebrate the most promising alumni from Raffles College of Design and Commerce in Sydney, and Raffles College of Higher Education in Singapore. Five of the up-and-coming fashion talents are graduates from Raffles Sydney while their two counterparts are from the Raffles Singapore campus.
“The Raffles International Showcase is an outstanding display of serious emerging design talent,” said Mr. Nicholas Comino, Program Director of Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing at Raffles Sydney, “The chosen designers display a remarkable standard of original ideas and tailoring in their work. This show is a must-see at MBFWA.”
Each of the Raffles designers will showcase a 10-piece ready-to-wear collection for Spring-Summer 15/16 at the Runway of Carriageworks. Collections include innovative women’s wear, contemporary menswear, couture design, and tailoring.
Mr. Comino said, “The show will allow the fashion industry to preview collections from the brightest young designers in the Asia-Pacific region.”
DE LA MOTTE by Anne de la Motte – Sydney
Born and raised in country NSW, Anne de la Motte has a strong connection to her roots. Her debut collection, ‘Premier’, is primarily inspired by Australia’s rural environment. The colour palette of the collection is a salute to the works of Australian artist, Jennifer Keeler Milne; while the design of the prints is a collaboration with her mother, Gillian de la Motte.
